Merchant Development Manager, Alcohol is seeking a Merchant Development Manager to join our fun and growing team! This individual will serve as the key merchant account manager focused on our alcohol merchant business, overseeing expanding, onboarding, troubleshooting and upselling of our merchant network in that growing vertical. You will be the key day-to-day merchant interface for a growing subset of 12,000+ merchants, providing best-in-class account management to merchant partners on our on-demand marketplace platform.


The ideal candidate will have a blend of sales, operations and high-touch client support skills to help build strong and lasting relationships with our key merchant partners. With this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for cultivating, growing and maintaining market share of on-demand alcohol sales throughout the country. This individual will be responsible for identifying and activating new merchant partners, resolving and defusing any merchant issues with ease and professionalism, and providing valuable market feedback to our internal product and software development teams.  The Merchant Development Manager is also responsible for selling value-add marketing services to our merchants, and will leverage their strong merchant partner relationships to do so.

The Merchant Development Manager reports to the Director of Merchant Development, and is based in New York City at our midtown offices.



  • Cultivate leads and generate referrals in strategic markets to optimize merchant coverage
  • Present’s value proposition to local merchants via email, phone calls and in-person meetings
  • Sign merchants to the merchant network
  • Consistently exceed monthly sales quota
  • Track sales activities in Salesforce
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a subset of merchant partners, developing trust and loyalty with business owners and operators
  • Coordinate with’s operations team to maintain accuracy of account information including menu / listing on the website/app, delivery ranges, billing information, etc.
  • Respond quickly and smartly to merchant inquiries and requests
  • Identify, centralize and escalate issues experienced by our merchant partners to multiple departments (i.e. Marketing, Technology, Customer Service, Merchant Services,  Accounting) Relay and execute resolution plan with merchants.
  • Meet or exceed goals for merchant onboarding, retention and upsell of marketing services products including website/app advertisements, emails and other integrated campaigns we run to drive orders to merchants
  • Collaborate with marketing to leverage’s existing merchant base and partnerships to increase alcohol orders



1-2 years of previous work experience, in a Sales, B2C/B2B support, or customer service related role preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; a clear communicator and comfortable on the phone and in email

Strong computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn new software

Effective and proven analytical and problem solving skills

Experience working with or selling to local businesses, a plus

Experience with Salesforce, Excel, and Powerpoint a plus

Fluency in  Spanish a plus


This is a full time position, eligible for performance bonuses, and compensated at market competitive rates, including full benefits of health, dental, 401(k).
