Merchant Development Manager is seeking a full-time Merchant Development Manager to join our team in New York City. This position requires a blend of sales, operations and client support skills to help build strong and lasting relationships. The ideal Merchant Development Manager will provide a high level of service and support for both internal and external contacts, and be an advocate for our merchant partners. We are a collaborative work environment, and the Merchant Development Manager will be expected to work effectively across all internal departments to identify, resolve and diffuse issues with ease as they occur as well as provide valuable market feedback to our internal team as they design and development our merchant-facing products and services.


Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and strengthen relationships, develop trust and loyalty with accounts, and partners Meet or exceed goals for account retention, development, and maintenance
  • Demonstrate proactive thinking by anticipating account needs
  • Be the primary point of contact for accounts
  • Update, and ensure the accuracy of account information
  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests and resolve issues
  • Identify and resolve issues experienced by our merchant partners by working with multiple departments (i.e. customer service, data entry, IT, accounting)
  • Manage ongoing projects as well as a high volume of calls and emails from clients requesting assistance with their accounts
  • Identify, research, track and report technical issues with the product
  • Compile reports for internal needs or at a partner’s (merchants, logistics companies) request
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive team experience
  • Maintain exceptional follow-up and follow-through on all tasks
  • Learn and master all proprietary agency and client systems, workflows, and processes related to day-to-day account management



  • 1-2 years of previous experience, in an account management, customer/merchant support, or customer service related role preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; a clear communicator and comfortable on the phone
  • Strong computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn new software
  • Effective and proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience working with or selling to local businesses, a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce, a plus
  • Fluency in another language (Spanish, Korean), a plus
